*FROM MEMPHIS TO KNOXVILLE*

Hey, my name is Anderson and i am a Freshman at the University of Tennessee. Coming from the city of memphis i experienced a lot, but attending school at the UT-Knox im experiencing even more. While i was in High School and when i first applied to UT, i was deferred and that was in January. Deferred doesn't mean i wasn't accepted it just means that i needed to update my information with the university. Honestly, yes this scared and really shook my mind set up because of my desire to attend the university of Tennessee. With me being as Ambitious as i am, when i visited campus for the jump trip, i made it a mission to be recognized. I talked with everyone i could and made the best impression that i could. By March, my hard work had paid off and i was accepted to UT-Knox on a full ride thanks to my hard work and dedication.
That same ambitous young man i was in January, i am now. Once you get on campus and your parents are gone your will eyes will really be amazed at all the freedom, and how its all on u . As well as all eyes will be directed into your attention, all upper class man and professors can recognize a freshman from a mile away, so it was up to me to distinguish myself from the others. I work hard in all my classes and keep an clean image because i know that all eyes are on me and i refuse to fail because it's not an option.
Being at UT is a great challenge as well as a great campus just by, it will help you with all aspects of your life. SO far i have been loving Knoxvegas, as we call it, with all of the ups and downs it will bring in the near future.
There are many things on and
off campus for us as college students to do, and one of my personal favorites are the home football games. Just to walk into Neyland Stadium and see over 102,000 strong chanting and supporting the VOLS is an adrenaline rush. Game days are so family orientated and orange and white dedicated. You just havent seen football until you have seen it the UT way.

But i make sure i stay focused with my school work by EACH AND EVERY DAY I WAKE UP AND GO TO SLEEP WITH THE MENTALITY THAT "GOD WILL NEVER PUT MORE ON ME THAN I CAN BEAR".

I am proud of you. I knew you had protential when you use to hold on to your mon's leg and follow her around church. It's good to see you have finally let go and you are now reaching for the stars. Be strong, stay faithful and keep God first in your life.
Remember, I love you.
I am So PROUD of you little cousin! It is really amazing how you can watch someone that you have known ever since they were a baby, grow into a Intelligent, Responsible, and Determined Young Man. Granny would be SO PROUD OF YOU! I am glad that you are enjoying school, and I look forward to "watching" many of your great accomplishments in the future. Make sure that you remain FOCUSED and always remember to keep putting GOD first in everything that you do. I hope to see you soon!
I Love You Lots!!!
Just knowing that you are enjoying yourself and experiencing the whole college life makes me so proud of you. I know that God and granny is looking down and smiling. Maintain your focus and don't let anyone or anything get you down. Can't wait to see you. I love you!!!
My, my, my. Mr. Olds, I, along with other members of Springdale Baptist Church cannot say enough about how proud we are of you. As one of my favorite Deacons, you display a strong sense of leadership and strength. I still needs some ties. I hope you bring some nice ones back. Are you taking care of the tasks that I assigned you? May the sun always shine on your face and the wind be at your back. You will succeed and bring pride to all who care about you.
What can I say? I am so very proud of you. I have watched you grow into an amazing young man. This is just the beginning... Remember to always let your light shine!!
great job man
your story has inspired me to do alot better seeing that it is my senior year and all.
Great blog
I am so proud of you. I don't know you, but knowing that you have overcome obstacles and made it to college as a young black man inspires me to continue to do my best as a TRiO Advisor. Meet Jocelyn Blake from BTW, Mandela Shaw, Elizabeth Ross, Jasmine Pete from East. Tell them Ms. Powell said hello. Be blessed! Aim for the supernatural-what you can not see.
Anderson - To say I'm proud of you is not enough. This is an answer to my prayer to see you go to college. You are handsome, smart, and have a determination and drive that will take you extremely far. Education is the key that will unlock so many doors for you. Hold your head high. Don't take advantage of anyone and don't let anyone take advantage of you. Remember you are my nephew, and I love you. Aunt Claudette
I'm glad that you're having fun here at UT, keep your head up and stay focused! But most of all keep GOD top priority and everything will fall into place :)
